Some scenes are a staple in K-Dramas to either make you hold your breath in suspense or make your heart flutter at the sentiment of romance. Today we’ll discuss another staple scene in K-Dramas that makes our hearts skip a beat every time. Let’s take a look at some of the best K-Drama umbrella moments that made our hearts flutter. Note: This list is not a ranking and is in random order. It contains spoilers for the respective scenes in each drama.
1. “Goblin”
This scene melted our hearts for several reasons and especially one in particular. Although there was a sweet moment under the umbrella in the scene. EunTak’s umbrella-like role in the moment was especially lovable. It rained more because Kim Shin was feeling sad, however, just like an umbrella, EunTak’s character was able to cheer him up and thus block the rain.
2. “Business Proposal”
The sweet scene from “Business Proposal” did more than just make us swoon. In the same way that HaRi wanted to protect TaeMu from his trauma, this scene made us feel protective over this couple and their budding chemistry. The umbrella symbolized a lot more than just a shelter for their romance, but also indicated their willingness to protect each other.
3. “Dear.M”
Dear.M had a similar protective vibe to it as “Business Proposal”. In this scene, Ma JuAh waits for Cha MinHo ready to cover him with her umbrella. This scene was especially heartwarming for fans since the female lead is the one who initiated this sweet deed. The nostalgia of it being linked to a moment in their childhood also adds to the furnace in our hearts.
4. “Twenty-Five Twenty-One”
Not only was this scene as funny as it was cute, but it had our hearts beating like we were the leads in the drama ourselves. Seeing Baek YiJin make sure that Na HeeDo doesn’t get wet and covering her every movement with his umbrella despite getting wet himself, made us swoon at his cute protective gestures. The scene was adorable until the end when Na HeeDo remembered a sudden errand that she needed to run with him because she doesn’t have an umbrella and when she made an excuse to stay close to him under it regardless of the rain stopping.
5. “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha”
This dreamy umbrella scene put a smile on all of our faces. Whereas most K-Drama leads use an umbrella to avoid the rain, DooShik and HyeJin welcomed the rain with open arms; allowing themselves to bask in a bit of fun and freedom. DooShik only pulled out the umbrella later to make sure that HyeJin doesn’t get sick and then the two had a moment where you could feel their hearts slowly melting for each other.
6. “The Legend of the Blue Sea”
It’s no secret that every K-Drama fan would love for Lee MinHo (Heo JoonJae in the drama) to come to their rescue on a rainy day with an umbrella. This scene is the kind that makes you flutter in anticipation. As this dashing hero came to save the day, just as Jun JiHyun’s (Shim Cheong in the drama) eyes were filled with gratitude and intrigue, our minds filled with romantic curiosity.
7. “Our Beloved Summer”
This has to be one of the most intense staredowns in K-Drama umbrella scene history. Not only did it feel like they were staring at each other forever with Choi Woong holding the umbrella over Kook YeonSu’s head, but the second she asked him whether she should leave or stay and he grabbed her for a kiss, we’re sure most us who were watching internally squealed. This scene is the stuff that K-Drama romances are made of. Which umbrella scene from these iconic K-Dramas was your favorite?
