The display of his immense acting talents is yet again very clear in the just concluded series “Café Minamdang”. Playing the role of Nam HanJun a profiler-turned-shaman, the series tells the story of a shaman who is on the hunt for a notorious serial killer who killed his partner and made him leave the police force. Using his smarts and intuition, with his team, he slowly etches his way to the truth, as one at a time, he unmasks the real people behind the mysterious deaths. While it is sad to see the series come to an end and as we wait for him to come back on our screens with the movie “Wolf Hunt”, here are some of his dramas you can also enjoy watching.
1. “Doom At Your Service”
The fantasy romance drama is a clear favorite from this genre and thanks to Seo InGuk, was one that made every fan wish they had a mystical being who would fall head over heels in love with them. The series tells the story of Tak DongKyung (played by Park BoYoung) A web novelist who finds out she is terminally ill with only 3 months to live and Myul Mang (played by Seo InGuk), a mystical being who acts as a messenger of doom. Upon hearing her diagnosis, she wishes for the world to end, and hearing this Myul Mang is set to make her wish come through, as he secretly is tired of his immortal life as well. However their plans and desires slowly fade away as together, they realize that the essence of humanity doesn’t lie in the face value but in the heart. As they count down to the 100 days, they find themselves falling in love with each other despite the complications that arose from their fated romance. Their heartwarming storyline is one that many fans totally enjoyed watching as their chemistry was undeniable. Speaking well to the skills of the actors, the portrayals of their characters were so top-notch, beautiful, and brilliant that fans had no choice but to ship them, even to this day. A true work of art, this series, for the longest time, will remain a favorite.
2. “Shopping King Louie”
Perhaps one of the sweetest and most adorable series in K-Drama world, “Shopping King Louie” is such a feel-good series that even years after its release, many still find it entertaining to watch. Seo InGuk’s acting in this series was yet again one of the best we’ve seen. He portrayed the character of Louie beautifully well. Not afraid to showcase his emotions, we see his character’s development was one that many also fell in love with. A series quite in contrast with many rom-coms, this character sort of breaks out of the typeset that we are used to in the K-Drama world. The troupe of the rich heir who gives his love a cinderella story is not portrayed here, rather, it portrays the female character as the hero, who saves the main lead and pulls him out of his conflicting struggles. Starring Seo InGuk as Louie and Nam JiHyun as Bok Sil, the series tells the story of a rich heir with a very high spending habit and low value for money. One day, he is involved in an accident and though unarmed, he loses his memory due to the impact. Not knowing who he was, he is left wandering the streets and looking lost. However, despite his memory loss, he still has terrible spending habits. His fate changes when he meets BokSil a poor girl from the countryside who is in search of her brother. Together, they learn the essence and value of money, family, and the gift of love.
